Sadler Racing improved their already impressive strike rate at their home base of Pakenham Racecourse last night with two nail biting finishes with both Flash Feeling and True Grit saluting.
The 3YO by Iffraaj, Flash Feeling opened the night for the stable breaking his Maiden over 1400m. “I was really pleased with how he dug deep having been in a bit of trouble at the 300m but he’s still green and will take a lot of confidence from this,” Jockey Matt Cartwright said post-race. “Stepping up to a mile and beyond in time won’t be an issue”. Congratulations to Marc Jacobson and connections.
True Grit continued his love affair with Pakenham racecourse posting a back-to-back win in the Class 1 over 1600m. Jockey Damian Lane was delighted with the horse’s improvement over the past few months in particular having ridden the 3YO Sebring gelding in both his wins as well as recent trials. “He’s tough. It’s really good how far he has come in this preparation and we hope he can improve on it,” Lane said. True Grit’s win was celebrated by a terrific group of owners on course and congratulations to all connections. He will now enjoy a well-earned spell at Rosemont Stud.
